Qualifications
Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice is required.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certification is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 30 days of hire.
3–5 years of experience as a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner is required.
Responsibilities
Conducts patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments.
Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests and procedures.
Provides preventative healthcare services, immunizations, and health screenings.
Prescribes medications and formulates treatment plans under applicable prescriptive authority.
Refers patients to specialists and community resources as needed.
Skills
Strong clinical reasoning and diagnostic abilities
Effective communication and patient education skills
Knowledge of primary care and/or specialty medicine
Proficiency in EHR documentation and patient management systems
Ability to function independently in high-pressure environments
Education
