Job summary

Memorial Hospital - Chattanooga is seeking a Nurse Practitioner, Hospitalist, to provide direct inpatient care under physician supervision. You will assess, diagnose, and manage hospitalized patients from admission to discharge with advanced clinical expertise.

You will perform comprehensive exams, order tests, develop treatment plans, and coordinate with the health care team to ensure high-quality inpatient care.

Qualifications

• MSN required
• 3–5 years acute care nursing practice at hire
• 1–3 years NP experience in acute or primary care
• TN license required at hire
• BLS/CPR certification
• AANPCP certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtain medical histories when necessary.
• Perform comprehensive physical exams within protocol.
• Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases within protocol guidelines; order diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications and advise on treatment within protocol guidelines; provide preventive screenings.
• Promote positive lifestyle and disease prevention through education and counseling.
• Assist physician with office surgeries and ensure chart sign-off within 7 days.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Nurse Practitioner, Hospitalist, you will be responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician.

Every day, you will apply your advanced clinical expertise to assess, diagnose, and manage the care of hospitalized patients from admission through discharge. This involves conducting comprehensive physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating closely with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless and high-quality inpatient care.

To be successful in your role, you will meticulously provide direct patient care, utilizing your specialized training and skills to assess, diagnose, and manage hospitalized patients under physician supervision. You will demonstrate exceptional clinical proficiency and a compassionate approach, ensuring comprehensive care coordination and optimal patient outcomes within your scope of practice.

• Obtain medical histories when necessary.

• Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines). Order diagnostic test.
• Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines). Provide preventive health screenings and immunizations for children and adults.
• Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.
• Assist the doctor with office surgeries. Assure charts are signed off by the doctor within 7 days.

Pay Range

$100,817.60 - $149,988.80 /year
