Job summary

Merrimack Health seeks a board-certified/board-eligible internal medicine or family medicine-trained physician to join our hospitalist team at Lawrence Hospital in Lawrence, MA. You will manage care for adult inpatients, collaborating with an interdisciplinary staff in a Level 3 trauma-designated setting.

The role offers a 7-on, 7-off schedule, CME stipend, Tufts Medical School academic appointments, and visa candidacy consideration.

Qualifications

• Board-certified/board-eligible internal medicine or family medicine-trained physician required or eligible.
• Collaboration and engagement with the interdisciplinary team.
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Direct care and develop comprehensive treatment plans for adult hospitalized patients.
• Communicate with patients and their healthcare advocate on progress and plans.
• Ensure appropriate transfer of care when service hours end and at discharge.
• Document daily involvement in patient care and record charges.
• Participate in quality/process improvement projects and hospital committees.

Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, andinternal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the rangeto support future salary growth.

Position Overview:

We seek a board-certified/board-eligible internal medicine or family medicine-trained physician to join our hospitalist team. You will be responsible for managing the treatment of patients admitted to Lawrence Hospital in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Join our hospital and its dedicated staff with a busy emergency center awarded a Level 3 trauma center designation.

Ideal Candidates:

• Board-certified/board-eligible internal medicine or family medicine-trained physician
• Collaboration and engagement with the interdisciplinary team
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus but not required

Hospitalist Responsibilities:

• Direct care and develop comprehensive treatment plans for adult hospitalized patients
• Communicate with patients and their designated healthcare advocate on progress and plans
• Ensure appropriate transfer of care when assigned hours of service end and upon patient discharge from the hospital
• Document daily involvement in patient care in the medical record and record charges appropriate to the level of service provided and documented
• Opportunity to participate in quality and process improvement projects as well as hospital committees and Teaching
• Perform duties in a manner that complies with all applicable standards, rules, policies, and regulations of the hospital, Joint Commission, and relevant local, state, and federal regulations
