The role blends clinical practice with education for residents and medical students in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The position offers a 7-on/7-off inpatient schedule with 12-hour shifts, shared call, and opportunities to teach lectures, conferences, and core residency curriculum.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and board certification in Internal Medicine are required.
• Missouri medical license or eligibility is required in this role.
• DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Mentor residents and participate in program development.

Overview

Join the Academic Internal Medicine Section at St. Joseph Medical Center and play a key role in our ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program. This position offers the opportunity to combine clinical practice with resident and medical student education in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

Position Highlights

• Work directly with residents and medical students in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Teach lectures, conferences, and core residency curriculum
• Participate in resident mentoring, evaluation, and program development
• Provide care across inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing environments
• Be an integral part of an established Internal Medicine Residency Program

Schedule & Call

• 7-on / 7-off inpatient schedule
• 12-hour shifts
• Shared call equally among providers
• Approximately 1 in 4 weekends for inpatient rounding with house staff

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Board Certified in Internal Medicine
• Minimum three years of post-residency hospitalist experience
• Demonstrated experience teaching and mentoring medical students and residents
• MD or DO with unrestricted Missouri medical license (or eligible)
• Current DEA registration
• BLS or ACLS certification
