PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Aiken is opening a new facility and is seeking a Unit Secretary to support nursing unit communication. The role includes greeting visitors, maintaining patient records, and transcribing physician orders while keeping the nursing station organized.

No prior experience is required, though healthcare environment exposure is preferred. Certification as Unit Secretary is a plus, and a high school diploma is expected for employment in this hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred; certification as Unit Secretary preferred.
• No previous experience required; healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Experience with office equipment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as receptionist, maintain patient records, and communicate physician orders.
• Maintain order at the nursing station and assist with related duties as assigned.

The Unit Secretary is responsible for nursing unit communication. Functions include serving as a receptionist, maintaining patient records, and transcribing and communicating physician orders as well as maintaining order at the nursing station. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

• Education and Training: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Certification as a Unit Secretary preferred.
• Experience: None required. Previous work experience in a medical environment preferred. Experience with office equipment desirable.
