About Trinity Health Livonia:
A full-service, 304-bed acute care hospital in Livonia, MI, offering comprehensive services including emergency care, surgery, rehabilitation, ICU, cancer treatment, cardiology, geriatrics, and women's health. Recognized for excellence in clinical outcomes, patient safety, and efficiency.

Job Summary:
Safely transfer and transport patients between care areas, diagnostic/testing departments, and inpatient units, including handling expired patients to the morgue.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Transport stable, non-monitored patients to diagnostic areas and inpatient units.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, visitors, and healthcare providers.
• Coordinate with RNs or healthcare providers before and after transports.
• Assist patients with restroom needs as necessary.
• Use transfer devices safely and effectively.
• Clean and maintain transport equipment.
• Manage transport equipment and supplies, including stretchers, wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, etc.
• Provide directions to families and visitors.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Participate in departmental meetings and ongoing education.
• Deliver culturally competent, age-specific patient care.
• Demonstrate area competencies and maintain professional relationships.
• Handle conflicts constructively and maintain confidentiality.
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Service Standards, and organizational values.
• Ensure safety for self and colleagues, reporting hazards immediately.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED recommended.
• Prior healthcare experience not required.
• Basic cardiac life support (BLS) certification required.

Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and autonomous in work assignments.
• Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with team and patients.
• Ability to walk or stand for hours and push heavy equipment.
