Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Transporter in Lexington, VA for full-time day shifts to move patients, equipment, and supplies within the hospital. You will assist with transfers, use mechanical lifts, and coordinate with care teams to ensure safe, timely patient movement.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety protocols in a dynamic hospital environment. High school diploma or GED and BLS within 30 days are required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills required to interface with care teams.
• Attention to detail and follow safety protocols.
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed, and Vess chair as requested.
• Transports to morgue and documents on log.
• Functions independently through the Patient Tracking system EPIC.
• Reports changes in patient condition to nurse or radiology tech.
• Explain lift/transfer to patient.
• Use EPIC to show progress of assigned job.
