Job summary

OHSU in Portland is seeking a Transportation Aide 1 to transport medical equipment, mail, labs, blood products and supplies across the hospital environment. Tasks include moving items to nursing units, clinics, labs and operating rooms using Teletracking software.

The role requires safety training for bio-hazardous items within 90 days and the ability to follow instructions, perform in stressful situations, and maintain a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to safely transfer equipment, supplies, specimens and blood.
• Must be trained in transporting bio-hazardous items within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transports medical equipment, mail, labs, blood products and supplies within OHSU.
• Operates elevators for patient and equipment movement; relieves elevator operators for breaks.
• Cleans and disinfects transportation equipment (stretchers, wheelchairs, morgue carts, Hover Matts, pillows, carts).
• Other duties as assigned.
