Job summary

UC Irvine Health is seeking a specialist in purchasing and inventory management to support a specific area of hospital inventory. Duties include purchasing, receiving, distribution, picking, put-away, replenishment, and stocking as well as input of patient charges as directed.

This role also collaborates with departmental end users to ensure an efficient supply chain experience and must be able to work overtime, weekends, and a rotating schedule to meet operational needs.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of previous job-related experience managing a multiple product inventory (SKU) and stock procurement system.
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and a rotating schedule to meet operational needs.
• Must be able to perform heavy manual tasks.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Knowledge of hospital MMIS system.
• Knowledge of UCI policies and procedures.
• Inventory management experience in a hospital, clinic or similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides purchasing and inventory management support to a specific area of hospital inventory supply/equipment.
• Includes supply chain operations: receiving, distribution, picking, put-away, product delivery and par/point of use replenishment and stocking.
• Inputs patient charges as directed.
• Works with departmental end users/customers to ensure an effective and streamlined supply chain experience.
