Job Summary/Purpose

The Hospital Supervisor reports to the Director of Patient Logistics. This position facilitates problem solving and communication to ensure the ongoing safe operations of the Medical Center on assigned shift. This role communicates ongoing activities as necessary to the administrator on-call, nursing leadership and respective department directors. The Hospital Supervisor ensures the adherence of staff to the procedures, regulations and policies as established.

Minimum Training, Education, Licensure/Certifications:

BSN required and completion of MSN or graduate degree in related field within 2- years. A minimum of 5 years of nursing work experience required (three years of nursing experience and two years of supervisory experience).

Certification in nursing leadership within one year of eligibility strongly encouraged.

Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance
