Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Stationary Engineer for the Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. The role involves operating, repairing, and maintaining gas and oil-fired boilers in a safe, efficient manner on the day shift.

Required NJ licensure (Black Seal) and a valid NJ driver’s license; preferred experience with industrial boilers is a plus. Compensation is hourly with full benefits and a comprehensive rewards package.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent with on-the-job or formal training.
A State of New Jersey Stationary Engineering Black Seal licensure is required; Blue Seal is listed as related.
Must possess and maintain a valid NJ Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Operates, repairs and maintains gas and oil-fired boilers and related equipment in the powerhouse.
Monitor boiler room equipment, meters and gauges to ensure safe, regulated operation.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance on boilers and associated components.
Keep logs for each boiler and emergency generator with results and actions.
Operate and maintain hospital main air conditioning system and the emergency generator.
Adjust the environmental control system via computer data as needed.
Ensure compliance with policies, safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
