Job summary

Providence Swedish Medical Center in Edmonds, WA seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver therapy to adults inpatients and outpatients, with occasional pediatric cases. You will evaluate patients and implement individual care plans, reassessing outcomes and contributing to discharge planning.

You will provide clinical guidance to staff, students and volunteers on communication and swallowing, and help educate the hospital community about disorders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• WA State Speech-Language Pathologist license required.
• 1 year hospital-wide experience with speech, language, cognitive communication disorders and dysphagia.
• Diagnostic experience with MBS procedures.
• Experience with MBS procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver speech-language therapy to predominantly adult inpatients and outpatients, with some pediatric/adolescent cases.
• Perform evaluations and develop/implement individualized plans of care; reassess treatment results and participate in discharge planning.
• Provide indirect clinical guidance to staff, students, and volunteers in communication, cognition, and swallowing; educate staff and hospital teams.
• Promote public awareness of communication and swallowing disorders through community and staff education.
