Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center in Houston, TX is seeking a Speech Therapist (SLP) to help patients improve communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities within a well-resourced, collaborative rehabilitation team.

You will evaluate, treat, document, and educate patients and families, while benefiting from clear caseloads, structured workflows, and network-backed clinical collaboration that honors your clinical judgement and protects your time.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Licensed as SLP in Texas and BLS certification (AHA) required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities using structured assessments and observation.
• Developing and adjusting individualized treatment plans for communication and safe swallowing.
• Documenting evaluations, daily notes, progress updates, and discharge summaries.
• Educating patients and families on goals, safety recommendations, home strategies, and progress.
• Collaborating with physicians, nursing, rehabilitation staff, and care managers to support coordinated care.
