Job summary

Highlands Behavioral Health System is seeking a Social Worker/Therapist to support social services integration, discharge and aftercare planning within a psychiatric inpatient setting in Littleton, CO. Direct patient care and compliance with quality standards are key responsibilities.

The role utilizes psychotherapeutic skills in group and individual therapies, with shift hours Fri-Mon, 8am–6:30pm. LCSW/LPC licensure preferred; Master’s in Social Work required.

Qualifications

• Education - Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field such as counseling or psychology
• Experience - Previous experience in a psychiatric setting preferred
• Licensure - LCSW, or LPC preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in the integration of social services in patient care, discharge planning and aftercare planning with hospital departments and external agencies.
• Provide direct patient care as appropriate and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
• Use psychotherapeutic skills to help patients and families understand and resolve problems from psychiatric illness via group and individual therapies.

Highlands Behavioral Health System is an 86 bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Littleton, CO. Highlands features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs.

The Social Worker/Therapist assists in the integration of social services functions in the patient care, discharge planning and aftercare planning process with other hospital departments, external service organizations, agencies and health care facilities. The Social Worker/Therapist provides direct care to patient as appropriate and ensures compliance with quality patient care and regulatory standards. The Social Worker/Therapist assists patients and their families through the use of psychotherapeutic skills to understand, identify and resolve complex problems resulting from psychiatric illnesses utilizing group and individual therapies.
