Job summary

Waste Management is seeking a Hospital Services Technician to travel between healthcare facilities, collecting and exchanging waste containers as part of WMHS programs including Sharps, Pharmaceutical Waste, and Document Management.

The role requires on-site presence, valid driver’s license, and adherence to immunization requirements. The position is full-time with a day schedule and benefits.

Qualifications

• This position requires on-site presence at WMHS customer locations and complies with required immunizations.
• 2 years of industry-related experience in a customer service capacity preferred, or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Job Summary

Under management direction, a Hospital Services Worker travels between customer healthcare facilities providing on‑site proactive collection and exchange of waste containers for various WM Healthcare Solutions (WMHS) programs, including but not limited to: Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, Controlled Substances, and Document Management. This service is provided at regularly scheduled intervals for assigned facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Travels between customer healthcare facilities to proactively monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for various WMHS programs and services, including but not limited to: Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, Controlled Substance and Document Management.
• Interacts professionally with onsite customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.
• Maintains a rigid collection and service schedule.
• Communicates duty status on a defined schedule.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• This position requires on‑site presence at WMHS customer locations and compliance with all mandatory immunization requirements imposed by such customers, and
• 2 years industry related experience in a customer service capacity preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact in providing superior customer service in a variety of settings and situations or preferred education requirement
• Valid Driver's License

• High School Diploma or GED (accredited)

• Position requires extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds and push and/or pull carts weighing as much as 500 pounds.

This job operates in both inside garage, shop or gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. This role is designated as safety sensitive and will require the successful candidate to strictly comply with all safety rules and protocols. As part of the ongoing employment requirements, the successful candidate may be subject to drug and alcohol testing—including pre‑employment screening, post‑incident evaluations, reasonable suspicion checks, and random testing—in accordance with government regulations and company policies.

• Tuesday: Cape Coral 5:00 AM- 1:30 PM
• Wednesday: Lee Memorial 7:00 AM- 10:00 AM
• Thursday: Lee Memorial 5:00 AM- 1:30 PM
• Friday: Cape Coral 5:00 AM- 1:30 PM

Working 35 hrs a week - still considered full-time and eligible for benefits
