Job summary

Memorial Blood Centers in Minnesota seeks a Hospital Services Clerk/Driver to assure component inventory for internal and external customers, comply with federal regulations, and provide excellent service. ~75% in hospital services, 25% driving, with an hourly rate of $20.05.

Responsibilities include executing hospital orders, consigning, shipping, packing, and reconciliation, plus patient-facing interactions and administrative tasks, all within a safety-focused team environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and continuous movement in and out of vehicle.
• 2 years of driving and/or customer service experience.
• Good driving record and strong oral/written communication.
• Ability to learn required computer functions and programs.

Responsibilities

• Performing and overseeing daily Hospital Service tasks (HSRD-1 tasks).
• Delivering hospital transfusion service orders and picking up samples.
• Daily interactions with hospital customers to ensure correct orders and shipments.
• Maintain knowledge of departmental equipment operation and troubleshoot with maintenance.
• Maintain hospital service vehicles, supplies, forms, and reports.
• Maintain knowledge of federal regulations and industry standards for storage, labeling, distribution and transport of blood components.

Responsibilities

Summary:

This position assists in assuring adequate component inventory for internal and external customer needs. Assists in assuring compliance with federal regulations and industry standards. Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers. Approximately 75% of the job is spent in hospital services department and 25% of the job is driving and delivering orders.

Schedule:Mon - Wed: 7am - 2:30pm

Job Responsibilities:

1. Performing and overseeing daily Hospital Service tasks (HSRD-1 tasks)

• Hospital Orders:
• Consigning
• Shipping
• Packing
• Reconciliation
• Irradiation/modification

2. Performing timely driving functions

• Delivering hospital Transfusion Services blood component orders.
• Performing whole blood pick-ups from Collections Van/Mobiles/Fixed sites.
• Performing sample pick-ups for Reference Lab, Donor Testing, and Nat Lab.

3. Customer Service

• Responsible for daily interactions with our hospital customers. Daily telephone communications with the hospital Transfusion Services allows for correct orders and component shipments

4. Equipment Maintenance

• Maintains adequate knowledge of departmental equipment operation to monitor and troubleshoot problem situations with the Maintenance department and equipment support services.

5. Maintains Hospital Services vehicles, department supplies, required forms, and reports.

6. Maintains a working knowledge of federal regulations and industry standards for the storage, labeling, distribution and transport of blood component.

The hourly rate for this position is $20.05/hr.
