Job summary

SSM Health St. Clare Hospital - Baraboo is seeking a PRN Security Officer to provide comprehensive security services across day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.

A valid driver’s license is required, and the role includes responding to emergencies, escorting personnel, and maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Typical duties include rounds, incident reporting, and collaboration with clinical staff to identify and mitigate hazards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or 10 years of work experience.
• Psychological assessment required after conditional offer.
• Valid Driver's License required to support security duties.

Responsibilities

• Protects property and staff by conducting interior and exterior rounds and monitoring for safety issues.
• Promotes safety of visitors and employees by performing door checks, lighting checks, and escorts when needed.
• Responds to emergencies, assists with police or EMS as arranged, and provides post-mortem services as required.
• Delivers professional customer service in dynamic situations and communicates safety hazards to clinical staff.
• Observes and reports security concerns; completes incident reports and shift logs.
• Performs maintenance tasks such as life safety checks, AEDs, extinguishers, access control, and badging.
• Enforces organizational policies and procedures and reviews incidents via video management system.
• May operate a patrol vehicle as part of duties; maintains alertness and safety.
