Job summary

Montefiore Nyack Hospital is seeking a Day Shift Security Guard to support the Safety & Security team. The role covers fixed posts and patrols, with coverage for no-shows and emergencies.

Must hold a High School Diploma and CPR/First Aid certification; prior hospital security experience is preferred. Responsibilities include responding to incidents, training for drills, and maintaining compliance with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–3 years of experience in a hospital setting as a security guard is preferred.
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to relate well to all types of people; act in a positive and supportive manner.
• Flexible and able to react under unusual circumstances that may alter normal routines.
• Good judgment and common sense.
• Medium proficiency in first aid and CPR; certified CPR and First Aid required.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Security Manager for overall job performance.
• Works with hospital staff and Security department.
• Assigned to fixed posts and hospital patrol; covers vacancies and emergencies.
• Conducts training exercises for fire drills and codes.
• Ensures compliance with hospital and security policies.
