Job summary

Halifax Health in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a Variable (United States of America) Security Officer to provide 24-hour coverage of hospital premises, parking, and transportation safety.

You will observe and report hazards, assist patients, staff and visitors, conduct rounds, monitor behavior, and participate in emergency response. The role requires a high school diploma and Florida Class-D license; healthcare or security/military experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
• State of Florida security officer license Class-D required.
• Previous law enforcement or military experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience or security/military background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24 hour coverage to hospital patients, employees, and visitors.
• Observe and report safety hazards and assist staff as needed.
• Make rounds of lobby, elevators, exits, hallways, parking lots and more.
• Escort employees and visitors to vehicles and off-site locations when required.
• Coordinate with administration on call and security supervisors.
• Carry out duties to maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
