Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Security Officer to protect the hospital campus, patients, visitors, and staff. You will patrol the hospital, garage, and perimeter, identify risks, and respond to incidents with professional judgment.

Ideal candidates have military or public safety experience, security training, and licenses (FOID, CPI, BLS). You will document incidents and preserve evidence while ensuring safety and calm de-escalation in stressful situations.

Qualifications

• CPI training within 3 months required.
• FOID issued by Illinois State Police.
• Driver's License from Illinois Secretary of State.
• BLS certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital, garage and perimeter for security.
• Mitigate conditions that threaten security and safety.
• Report and correct safety violations observed during patrols.
• Prevent thefts, disturbances, and criminal incidents.
• Verify visitor and staff identification badges.
• Notify supervisor of problems promptly.
• Follow post orders for all positions and de-escalate when needed.
• Submit work orders for safety issues and preserve evidence.
• Respond to emergencies and document investigations clearly.
