Job summary

Frederick Health seeks an Emergency Relief Security Officer to provide a safe environment by enforcing hospital security regulations and patrolling assigned areas. You will report hazards, escort staff and visitors, respond to emergencies, and support secure operations across hospital facilities.

Weekend and holiday coverage is required; a valid Maryland driver’s license and a clear driving record are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1–3 years security experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid Maryland driver’s license or state license and a clean driving record.
• Must pass criminal background check and maintain certification where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provides protection to people and property through patrol, investigation, monitoring alarms and surveillance cameras.
• Provides escorts for staff, visitors and patients as requested.
• Apprehends criminal violators when necessary and appropriate.
• Provides emergency response to a variety of situations.
• Applies patient restraints as needed.
• Patrols assigned areas and monitors safety within buildings and grounds.
• Identifies unsafe conditions and secured areas to prevent theft or injury.
• Maintains confidentiality and completes written reports promptly.
• Monitors security systems and supports patient transport and critical incidents.
• Acts as a first responder to HazMat incidents and safety improvement initiatives.
