Job summary

Corewell Health at Lakeland Hospital Niles seeks a Security Officer to patrol hospital buildings and grounds, deter crime, respond to emergencies, and support safe parking and transportation for staff, patients, and visitors.

The role requires a High School diploma, a valid Michigan driver license, First Aid and Basic Life Support certifications, and strong de‑escalation and communication skills. Day shift; weekends on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 21 years of age with valid Michigan driver license.
• LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI Upon Hire.
• CRT-First Aid - AHA or ARC with 180 days.
• CRT-BLS - AHA or ARC with 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintains high visibility foot and vehicle patrols to deter crimes and safety violations.
• Documents incidents thoroughly and promptly in incident reports and records.
• Assist staff, visitors and patients with directions, access control and escorts.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors and health care teams.
• De-escalate conflicts and apply appropriate safety force when needed.
• Respond to suspicious or emergency situations and investigate as required.
