Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer in a hospital setting in Blacksburg, VA. This full-time role involves patrolling, monitoring access points, and providing courteous customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

You will respond to incidents, document observations, and work with site leadership to maintain safety. A minimum of one year of security experience and the ability to work in a hospital environment are required. Pay is $20.00 per hour with a stable schedule and benefits.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Willing to receive required hospital vaccinations.
• Able to work in and around a hospital morgue.
• Able to restrain individuals when necessary.
• State, county, or city-issued security license preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• License requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access concerns, visitor-related issues, and requests for support.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and support site procedures.
• Monitor access points and assist with directing patients, visitors, and staff in accordance with facility protocols.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and emergency responders as needed.
