Job summary

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) seeks a Patrol Officer to protect the safety of St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. The role involves foot and mobile patrols, detailed reporting, and professional interaction with staff, patients, and visitors.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED; an Associate degree is preferred. Valid state driver’s license is required; OC certification within 90 days is preferred if applicable. Full-time position working 6:00am–6:00pm, every other week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in law enforcement, criminal justice or military service preferred.
• 1 year of experience in private security preferred.
• Valid state driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular foot and mobile patrols to ensure safety and security.
• Maintain detailed security reports and logs.
• Interact professionally with patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Operate and maintain assigned security equipment and patrol vehicles.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors to ensure operational efficiency.
