Job summary

Wilcox Medical Center, part of Hawaii Pacific Health, seeks a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors at Kaua'i's largest acute care facility. You will patrol facilities, respond to incidents and support safety programs to maintain a secure environment.

Location: Wilcox Medical Center • Schedule: Rotating 8-hour shifts • Status: Full Time Regular; Pay range: $26.81–$28.22 per hour. Previous security experience and valid licenses preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Hawaii Security Guard Registration (GDE) License.
• Current American Heart Association Heartsaver-AED or BLS Card.
• Preferred: 6 months of security experience.
• IAHSS Basic Healthcare Security Officer Training to be obtained within one year of hire.
• Teamwork Awareness Prevention Course to be attended within one year of hire.
• Hospital security experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Providing protection and security for facility personnel, patients, visitors and property through security and safety patrols.
• Crisis intervention, investigation into minor crimes and accidents.
• Serving as a visual deterrent to potential problem situations.
• Participation in safety programs and support to all departments.
