Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Security Officer to monitor and protect facilities, employees, patients and visitors. The role requires effective communication with the public and adherence to established security procedures under the supervision of the Medical Center Security Manager.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with at least 1 year of experience. A Bachelor’s degree or other relevant certifications may be substituted, and IAHSS

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, and 1 year of experience.
• 1 year of relevant experience (Security, Law Enforcement, Fire Service, Emergency Medical Service, Behavioral Health, Counselor, Education, or Military).
• Must obtain and maintain IAHSS certification within first year of employment.
• Must have a valid South Carolina Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and provides protection and security for facilities, premises, employees, patients and visitors.
• Communicates tactfully with the general public and uses standard security practices.
• Performs routine and repetitive duties following prescribed standards and practices set by the Hospital Security Manager.
