Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital in Houston is seeking a full-time Security Officer to provide a safe and secure environment during shifts. You will patrol, stand post, deter crime, assist staff, patients, and visitors, and document incidents and details.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a Texas Driver's License, and an LCSO commissioned license within 90 days of hire, plus about 1 year of security or related experience. Training and respiratory fit testing are part of onboarding.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• LCSO Commissioned Security Officer License must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Texas Driver's License is required.
• At least 1 year of security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide security functions in a designated patrol position and/or posts during varying hours and shifts.
• Periodically foot patrol specific buildings, observing visitors, patients and staff for compliance with rules and protocol.
• Ensure sign-in logs and documents are properly maintained as prescribed by procedures.
• Operate company vehicles and other assigned duties.
• Monitor traffic and parking in designated areas.
• Respond to emergencies, use AED, and assist with basic life support as needed.
• Attend and complete hospital and departmental required training.
• Undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with health and safety standards.
