Job summary

Rochester Regional Health’s Newark-Wayne Community Hospital is seeking a Safety and Security Officer Trainee. The role supports safety operations, completes on-the-job security training, and participates in patrols, incident response, and drills under supervision.

The trainee focuses on customer service, teamwork, and professional conduct as they develop into a full Security Officer in a 24-hour operation with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interest in safety, security, or law enforcement preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer-focused attitude preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete required security training and shadowing to learn hospital policies.
• Assist patrols, access control, CCTV monitoring, incident response, and drills under supervision.
• Identify hazards, support fire safety checks, and promote patient and visitor safety.
• Prepare clear incident and activity reports while learning documentation practices.
• Demonstrate professional conduct and teamwork to grow into an independent officer.
