Job summary

Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, FL seeks a Rapid Response EMT or Paramedic to join the Logistics/Mission Control team, delivering immediate hospital-based emergency care and supporting CODE responses and stabilization with the RRT Nurse.

This per diem night role (7:00pm–7:00am) emphasizes early intervention, interdisciplinary collaboration, and accurate EMR documentation across inpatient units and the ED. Florida EMS certification and BLS required (Paramedics also need ACLS/PALS).

Qualifications

• EMT or Paramedic Florida State Certification and/or National Registry.
• Minimum of 1 year experience participating in or supporting Rapid Response Teams (RRT), Code Blue, or other inpatient emergency activations.
• 2–3 years of clinical experience in a high-acuity healthcare environment.
• Prior hospital-based experience in ED/ICU or inpatient technician/paramedic roles preferred.
• EMTs: BLS certification through The American Heart Association; Paramedics: BLS, ACLS and PALS through AHA.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inpatient emergencies including Rapid Response activation and CODE BLUE, CODE STROKE, STEMI & SEPSIS events.
• Collaborate with Rapid Response Nurse and providers to assess, treat, and stabilize deteriorating patients.
• Perform focused patient assessment and assist with clinical decision-making during acute events.
• Provide BLS/ALS interventions as needed.
• Assist with cardiac monitoring, US-guided IV/IO access, and participate in quality improvement and code reviews.
• Support stabilization for transfer to ICU/PCU or higher levels of care.
• Communicate effectively with bedside staff, physicians, and ancillary departments during emergencies.
• Accurately document in the EMR.
• Perform medication histories and venipuncture/lab specimen collection as assigned.
• Know and implement fire, disaster and safety procedures relevant to the work area.
