Job summary

Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, FL is seeking a Rapid Response Nurse to provide expert clinical support for acutely deteriorating patients across the hospital. You will respond to overhead activations (Sepsis, Stroke, STEMI, Code Blue) and collaborate with the primary nurse to stabilize patients and guide bedside staff.

The role emphasizes rapid assessment, immediate interventions, and education of staff on early warning signs and rapid response protocols.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience, with at least 2 years in an acute/critical care or emergency setting.
• Current/Active FL RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS through AHA required.
• NIH certification required.
• CCRN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond immediately to overhead alerts for deteriorating patients.
• Perform rapid, comprehensive physical, neuro, and cardiovascular assessments.
• Provide immediate nursing interventions and stabilization.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and staff on care plans.
• Educate and mentor nursing staff on rapid response protocols.
• Document assessments, interventions, and med histories in EHR.
• Ensure care meets evidence-based standards and quality metrics.
• Coordinate, delegate, and supervise rapid response team activities.
• Conduct proactive rounds on high-risk patients to prevent deterioration.
• Lead debriefs after critical events to identify learning opportunities.
