Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a security professional to safeguard patients, staff and visitors within the hospital environment. The role includes patrolling, checking doors and entry points, documenting incidents, and coordinating with local authorities as necessary to ensure safety.

The position is full-time, with a 40-hour workweek on the evening shift Monday through Friday, and requires a high school diploma or GED, three years of related public safety experience, and several mandatory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Complete initial 8 hour Hospital Orientation Program and Annual Competency Reviews and any mandated training.
• Annual certifications in CPR, fit testing for TB respirator, Hazard Communication, Fire Suppression and Hazard Recognition, Emergency Response Team training, and related requirements.
• Avade 2 (restraint) training completion within 6 months of hire.
• Three years related experience and/or training in public safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide security for the safety and protection of hospital patients, staff, the general public, and properties.
• Patrol buildings and grounds; monitor doors and entry points; document incidents.
• Assist local authorities and cooperate with law enforcement as needed.
• Adhere to general orders and maintain attendance; perform related duties as required.
