Job summary

Humboldt Park Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Full-Time Public Safety Officer to provide professional protection for patients, employees, visitors and hospital assets. This on-site role requires alert, responsive security coverage during evening hours with opportunities for shift differentials.

Under direct supervision, you will patrol the campus, respond to alarms, conduct investigations, and maintain safety for all staff and patients.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of prior security experience preferred.
• Hospital security or related experience preferred.
• CPR/AED certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Patrols the entire campus providing high visibility to ensure safety of patients, employees and visitors.
• Reports all incidents and accidents in compliance with hospital policy.
• Conducts preliminary investigations for issues such as theft, malicious acts, injuries and prepares incident reports with complete information.
• Maintains protection and safety of patients, visitors, staff, and equipment.
• Monitors infant abduction system (HUGS) and responds to alarms.
• Provides vehicle escort services when requested.
• Assists in de-escalating and managing difficult/abusive patients or visitors when requested.
• Provides directions and information to visitors, patients, and staff.

Skills

1-3 years experience preferred

Hospital experience preferred

Education

20 Hour Certification

Driver's License

PERC Card within 3 months of hire

CPR/AED certification preferred
