Job Title: Hospital Phlebotomist

Department: Phlebotomy

Location: Unity Hospital

Hours Per Week: 24

Schedule: Days | 4am - 12:30pm w/ weekend rotations

Laboratory and pathology services are vital to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. We offer comprehensive testing services including patient laboratory service centers, home lab services, expert pathologists, and in-hospital diagnostics.

Summary: As a Patient Services Technician II, you will put patients at ease while collecting specimens and ensure all patient information is accurate and compliant with system standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Data Entry & Reporting - Use the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to enter client information; confirm patient identity and document essential information for procurement, processing, and testing of specimens.
2. Specimen Collection - Perform venipuncture, heel stick, and finger stick procedures; maintain specimen integrity; train new staff on phlebotomy procedures.
3. Patient Care - Greet and assist patients, provide information, and communicate effectively to ensure accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certificate in Phlebotomy preferred
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Basic keyboard/data entry skills

Education & Certifications: Relevant licenses or certifications in phlebotomy.

Physical Requirements: Medium work involving exerting 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and constant movement such as walking, standing, or squatting.

Pay Range: $19.75 per hour
