Job summary

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team at Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile, AL. You will perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, collect specimens for tests, and enter patient data accurately.

You will provide customer service, handle processing and billing information, and travel to additional sites as needed. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, phlebotomy certification or training, or 3 months of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team at Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile, AL.

Work Schedule: 3rd shift 4x10s typically Monday - Friday but days of the week will vary 8pm - 6:30am and rotating Saturdays.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
