Job summary

UHS in McAllen, TX seeks Pharmacy Technicians/Trainees to assist the pharmacy team under supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will prepare and distribute medications, maintain inventory and records, and follow approved procedures.

Ideal candidates have hospital experience or IV meds experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment while collaborating with other health care professionals.

Qualifications

• Two years hospital or 1 year IV experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable of and complies with laws, rules and regulations that govern the practice of pharmacy.
• Ability to set priorities, meets deadlines, solves problems, adapts to changes within the work environment.
• An aptitude for working with other health care professionals.
• Willing to travel between STHS facilities.
• Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and distributing medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Maintain drug inventory and records.
• Function according to standard written procedures and state/federal regulations.
• Do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
