Job summary

Alameda Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to handle drug distribution and sterile admixture throughout the hospital under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The role includes patient billing processes and essential clerical functions to support the department’s operations.

Key duties include sterile product preparation, inventory management with Pyxis, processing medication orders, unit-dose packaging, and daily system reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Current State of California Pharmacy Technician License required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, process, and prepare sterile parental products.
• Perform billing functions for all patient classifications and types.
• Interpret and process physician's medication orders accurately.
• Replace stock to the floors and manage Pyxis/Narcotic inventory.
• Document all manipulations of Schedule II drugs.
• Pre-package bulk medications into unit-dose packaging.
• Generate daily reports from pharmacy system software.
• Conduct monthly inventory of Pyxis and narcotic locker (C-II's).
• Process interdepartmental charges.
