Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or GED.
  • Current registration with the Georgia Board of Pharmacy.
  • First attempt of certification exam should be completed within six months of hire.
  • Certification must be obtained by the third attempt or at 12 months of hire.
  • Hospital experience of at least one year preferred; pharmacy tech school or pharmacy retail experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision of a Staff Pharmacist, processes and fills physician orders.
  • Acts as liaison between pharmacy and nursing to ensure timely medication delivery.
  • Utilizes Robot software and prints batch pick lists for medications.
  • Performs medication preparation tasks in accordance with USP 797 and department policies.
  • Maintains accuracy by checking expirations and restocking as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with pharmacy leadership and nursing staff.
