Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital seeks a Pharmacy Technician I–III to support prescription processing, inventory management, and compounding tasks across hospital settings. The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to Michigan requirements.

Shifts are part-time with a 24-hours weekly schedule; candidates may progress through Technician I-III levels as competency develops, with duties varying by outpatient/retail or inpatient pharmacy contexts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-6 months of hospital/retail pharmacy experience or training preferred.
• Temporary or permanent Michigan Pharmacy Technician license required upon hire; permanent licensure within one year.
• PTCB certification required by Michigan to transition to permanent licensure.
• Skills in mathematics and basic algebra.
• Strong communication with pharmacists, hospital personnel and customers.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and provide timely follow-up.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in filling prescriptions and preparing IV admixtures.
• Fill orders for review and approval by a Registered Pharmacist.
• Perform clerical and supply duties as needed for location (outpatient/retail or hospital).
• Maintain competency in required pharmacy technician duties across career levels I-III.
• Complete duties in outpatient/retail or hospital settings as assigned.
