You will assist with preparation, distribution, inventory, and storage of medications, and help maintain records with a focus on safety and accuracy.

You will support medication preparation, labeling, dispensing, and storage while ensuring HIPAA compliance and adherence to hospital procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current PHTC certification/credential.
• Current registration with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy.
• Ability to maintain all required registration and certification throughout employment.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and medication safety.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn pharmacy and hospital information systems.
• Ability to work effectively with pharmacists, nursing staff, providers, and other members of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with preparing and distributing medications for hospital patients.
• Accurately fill and label medication orders for pharmacist verification.
• Deliver medications and pharmacy supplies to appropriate patient care areas.
• Maintain and restock automated medication dispensing systems and medication storage areas.
• Monitor medication and supply inventory and assist with ordering and receiving pharmacy products.
• Identify and remove expired, recalled, or damaged medications according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
• Assist with medication returns, credits, and inventory reconciliation.
• Follow established procedures for handling controlled substances and other medications requiring additional security.
• Maintain appropriate medication storage conditions, including required temperature monitoring.
• Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nursing staff, providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
• Follow hospital policies, infection prevention practices, and medication safety standards.
• Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned by the pharmacist.
