Job summary

Cardinal Health is recruiting a PRN Technician II for Health Systems Pharmacy to support daily operations at the Stoughton, MA location. The role involves preparing and filling prescriptions, inventory management and accurate record-keeping under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

You will engage with patients and healthcare teams to ensure timely fulfillment and adhere to regulatory guidelines, with hours Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm, as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Massachusetts license or eligibility to obtain licensure as a Pharmacy Technician.
• PTCB certification highly preferred.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain certification.
• IV compounding experience preferred.
• In-patient/hospital experience preferred.
• Experience purchasing pharmacy inventory preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated ability to use technology (computers, smartphones, tablets).

Responsibilities

• Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
• Assists the Pharmacist in filling prescription orders as allowed by state law.
• Prepares medications for dispensing, packaging and shipment.
• Enters medical supply orders into the pharmacy system.
• Maintains knowledge of and compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes outdated items.
• Communicates with patients, clinics, care-givers and physicians in a professional manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
