Job summary

Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician. This entry-level, on-site role focuses on medication delivery and inventory management, with basic patient/provider communication and message retrieval.

You will use the pharmacy computer system, prepare and label medications for distribution, manage supplies, maintain records, and assist in onboarding new pharmacy personnel. Requires a High School diploma and Pharmacy Technician certification or PA Board registration;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• PTCB or NHA certification within 2 years.
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee/Technician/Intern with PA Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient/provider/customer care
• Use the pharmacy computer system to facilitate patient care
• Participate in patient/provider/customer care activities that do not require the expertise of a pharmacist
• Prepare and label medications appropriately for distribution
• Retrieve, review, and perform inventory management for medications and supplies in the pharmacy
• Maintain pharmacy records
• Perform housekeeping duties in the pharmacy in compliance with hospital and accreditation policies
• Participate in onboarding and training of new pharmacy personnel
