Job summary

Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA, seeks a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to assist with order entry and distribution under pharmacist supervision. Position includes second-shift hours and provides $2.50/hour night and $2.00/hour evening differentials.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, PA Board registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, and six months of relevant experience or completion of a PTA training program with externship hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee by PA State Board of Pharmacy required.
• Six months of experience in retail or hospital pharmacy with medical terminology and computer use background or graduate of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program with 120 hours externship;.
• Ability to obtain Pharmacy Technician Certification within six months required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with order entry preparation and distribution of drug products under supervision of a registered Pharmacist.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of drug supplies and control systems for purchases and distribution.
