Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) in Newark, OH seeks a motivated, nationally certified pharmacy technician to work under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. Qualifications

• 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Pass approved criminal background checks.
• Completed Ohio State Board of Pharmacy approved training program.
• National pharmacy technician certification: PTCB or ExCPT.
• Registered with the OSBP as a certified pharmacy technician.
• Read, write, perform arithmetic calculations and follow verbal or written instructions.
• Basic computer skills and common office equipment.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with pharmacy, nursing, and other healthcare staff.
• Analytic ability to perform assigned tasks.
• LMH accreditation may require annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Fill Automated Dispensing Units and remove discontinued medications.
• Check for damaged or outdated IV fluids and medications and remove outdated stock.
• Ensure equipment for patient care is available and functioning (crash carts, PARx handhelds, packager, printers).
• Ensure drugs in Pyxis are in the correct location.
• Prepare prescribed medications, including compounded formulations and IVs.
• Ensure quality packaging, storage, safety, security, and distribution of medications.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
