Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support comprehensive pharmaceutical care under a pharmacist's supervision. You will assist in dispensing, IV preparation, inventory control, and medication safety per USP standards, while ensuring accuracy and timely service.

Qualifications

• California Pharmacy Technician License (TCH) - REQUIRED
• 1 Year experience in hospital pharmacy environment or IV sterile compounding - PREFERRED
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - PREFERRED

Responsibilities

• Medication Dispensing: accurately filling and preparing doses and unit doses for patient cassettes and floor stocks.
• Medication Delivery: transferring medications to correct locations and managing STAT/ASAP/NOW orders.
• IV Preparation: compounding IV admixtures per USP 797/800 with pharmacist checks.
• Inventory Control: monitor PAR levels and proper medication storage to prevent shortages.
• Pyxis Technology Management: refilling and operating automated dispensing cabinets with barcode technology.
• Medication Safety: identify and address look-alike/sound-alike issues and participate in safety initiatives.
• Regulatory Compliance: adhere to policies, documents, and regulatory requirements for medications and storage.
• Quality Assurance: prioritize workload and participate in process improvement.
• Communication and Teamwork: maintain effective communication with staff and customers.
