Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the Tri-City Medical Center pharmacy in ordering, preparing, and dispensing medications, including IV admixtures. The role requires maintaining the IV room and restocking supplies with strict aseptic technique.

California Pharmacy Technician License (TCH) or California Intern Pharmacist is required, with six months hospital pharmacy experience preferred. On-site position with competitive pay and shift expectations.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent.
• IV admixture experience, required (OP Infusion Center only)
• California Pharmacy Technician License (TCH) - CA State Board of Pharmacy; OR California Intern Pharmacist - CA State Board of Pharmacy -REQUIRED

Responsibilities

• Assists Pharmacists and the Department of Pharmacy at Tri-City Medical Center in ordering, preparing, and distributing medications.
• Prepares IV additives and solutions as required using aseptic technique.
• Responsible for ordering and restocking supplies, and maintaining the IV room and pharmacy in a neat and orderly manner.
• Maintains appropriate garbing, cleaning and maintenance of the Clean Room Suite and all equipment including Laminar Airflow Hood and BSC hood per USP797 and CA State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Monitors refrigerator temperatures, room temperatures and differential pressures in the HD, Ante and Clean Room.
• Documents all activities online daily.
• Maintains the pharmacy in a clean and orderly manner. Properly stores, handles and disposes of IV medications and supplies, including hazardous medications and supplies.
• Uses the C2 safe appropriately and runs compare report daily to catch any discrepancies and notifies Controlled Substance Technician or manager.
• Prepares all admixtures utilizing aseptic technique.
• Prioritizes admixture preparation for multiple patients.
