Job summary

Atlantic Health in New Jersey is seeking an experienced pharmacy technician to support sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous medication preparation under pharmacist supervision in a hospital setting.

You will work with pharmacy automation and electronic medical records, ensuring safe handling and accurate preparation and delivery of medications.

Strong communication, attention to detail and teamwork are essential; hospital experience and NJ Board of Pharmacy registration are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.
• PTCB or NHA certification active or acquire within 6 months of hire.
• Current active registration with the State of NJ Board of Pharmacy required.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in the use of a variety of pharmacy automation systems and electronic medical records.
• Responsible for medication preparation and delivery, including controlled dangerous substances and hazardous medications.
• Responsible for the safe and accurate preparation of non-sterile and sterile medications according to USP 795, 797 and 800 guidelines.
• Handle hazardous medications according to USP 800 guidelines.
• Follow proper medication safety practices (e.g., look alike sound alike, high alert, expirations and recalls, temperature and humidity documentation).
• Assist in training of pharmacy personnel, when appropriate.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail and teamwork.
