Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks an Assistant Director of Pharmacy Operations for RWJ Somerset. The role oversees daily pharmacy operations, residents, and regulatory compliance to meet quality, access, and budget goals at the site.

A typical day includes resolving clinical issues, serving as a clinical pharmacy resource, developing policies, and supervising residency programs while actively participating in performance-improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• B.S. or Pharm.D. from ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Registration in New Jersey as a pharmacist; current New Jersey licensure required.
• Minimum 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
• Previous leadership experience in Pharmacy, preferably in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Address day-to-day clinical issues with interdisciplinary group and serve as a clinical pharmacy resource.
• Serve as clinical resource for pharmaceutical care and formulary management, coordinating activities with departments and the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee.
• Develop and maintain Policies and Procedures; update to reflect current standards and inform staff of changes.
• Oversee PGY-1 General Practice Residency program and precept students.
• Participate in committees and performance improvement initiatives (e.g., P&T, Medication Safety, Sepsis, Oncology P&T).
