Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to provide managerial and programmatic direction for the operation of the pharmacy services. The Manager coordinates standards of work performance and plans, directs, and monitors distributive and clinical pharmacy services to all patient care areas.

The Manager reports to the Executive Director of Pharmacy Services and ensures compliance with hospital policies.

Qualifications

PharmD degree required; Florida license preferred if already active.
Minimum three years of hospital pharmacy management experience.
Strong organizational, computer and management abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with faculty and staff.
Knowledge of pharmacy software and automated dispensing technologies.

Responsibilities

Oversee provision of pharmacy services and all departmental operations.
Set goals, objectives, and programs aligned with the hospital's strategic plan.
Lead development of safe, efficient medication distribution and drug therapy monitoring systems.
Direct staff including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians; foster teamwork and professional development.
Ensure compliance with laws, accreditation standards, and internal policies; address complaints.
Coordinate relationships with physicians, nursing, administration and other stakeholders.
Promote patient safety and report medication errors; participate in safety trainings.
