Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support both distributive and clinical pharmacy functions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The role includes filling, compounding, reconstituting, preparing and labeling medications, and delivering to patient care areas.

The incumbent will participate in physician order processing, pharmacotherapy consults, MAR reviews, and staff development activities, with opportunities for education and training.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a professional pharmacy program at an accredited college of Pharmacy.
• Abilities to use computer equipment and pharmacy office systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in filling, compounding, reconstituting, preparing and labeling medications.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas and participate in physician order processing.
• Support targeted drug programs and MAR/patient profile review.
• Contribute to pharmacotherapy consults, staff development and education programs.
• Triaga pharmacy inquiries and orders; maintain and replenish medications in the pharmacy and areas.
