Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications in a hospital setting. The role includes maintaining inventory, stocking supplies, and handling IV medications under supervision.

Qualified candidates are enrolled in an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy (end of year 3 or above). A hospital pharmacy background is preferred and a Pharmacy Intern Permit is required or in process.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy and near completion of the 3rd year or higher.
• Preference for at least 1 year in a hospital pharmacy setting.
• Must hold or be eligible for a Pharmacy Intern Permit.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist with preparing and dispensing medication.
• Mix pharmaceutical preparations, fill bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules, and prepare labels.
• Fill medication orders for individual patients under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Receive and store incoming supplies.
• Count stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records.
• Prepare IV medication using sterile technique under supervision of hospital pharmacists.

Education

Enrolled in an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy, end of year 3 or above

1 year hospital pharmacy setting preferred
